Ms. Featherpop was created by Chanel Jenkins, founder and creator of Bringing Education to the Park.
This project grew from Chanel’s heart and her family’s legacy of love. Her mother, Jacqueline, was the neighborhood’s guiding light — gathering children to play, learn, and laugh, and later opening her home as a foster parent.
That same spirit ran through generations. Chanel grew up surrounded by strong women — her aunts, who cared for one another, lifted children, and made every day feel special. Their joy, generosity, and devotion to family became the foundation for everything Chanel creates today.
As a mother, teacher, and storyteller, Chanel carries that legacy forward — helping children everywhere feel seen, loved, and excited to learn.
Dedicated to my mother, Jacqueline Jenkins, and to all the women in my family who showed me the power of love, community, and care.
